Director of Research, Portfolio Manager
With over 20 years of business and advisory experience, Cary expertly combines financial planning and investment management to help clients make informed decisions about their wealth and families. After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce in Japanese Studies from the University of Alberta, Cary earned his designations as a Chartered Investment Manager or CIM® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER or CFP® professional.
Outside of work, Cary is committed to building stronger communities and volunteers on the finance committee for Edmonton’s Zebra Child & Youth Advocacy Centre. He also secretly loves chauffeuring his two kids to sports and music activities (but don’t tell them).

President, Portfolio Manager
Marshall brings over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, starting his career as a bank teller at Alberta Treasury Branches while attending university. His journey has since evolved, leading him to his current role as leader at North Road. With a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance from the University of Alberta and the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst or CFA®, Marshall has built a deep expertise in wealth management.
Outside of his professional life, Marshall enjoys travelling, playing padel tennis, and experiencing great music at places like The Winspear and the Edmonton Folk Music Festival. Some of his favourite moments are spent with his three children and his wife’s two children, gathering around the fire at their cottage on Lake Wabamun.

Rhonda manages the day-to-day administration of our practice and takes pride in fostering a client-first culture.
After spending many years rushing kids to dance and hockey, Rhonda is rediscovering her own love of dance.

Director of Operations
A graduate of the University of Winnipeg, Robert has been integral in the successful back-office operations of multiple investment firms over his 32 years of experience, working with clients across a variety of operational focus areas within the investment industry, including retail, institutional, pooled fund management, and outsourced investment management (OCIO).
Prior to moving to Edmonton, Rob worked for over 10 years supporting the back-office functions of the Edmonton-based team.
In his free time, Rob is an avid golfer and committed to his goal of becoming a scratch golfer.

Digital Marketing & Design Specialist
With a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from MacEwan University, Joshua brings a unique cross-section of analytical and creative insights to the team. His academic background allows him to approach projects with both strategic thinking and imaginative ideas.
Joshua is the creative engine behind North Road's marketing efforts, developing and designing marketing materials, producing and editing video content, managing our social media channels, crafting engaging presentations, designing and maintaining our website, and writing newsletters that captivate our clients. His work ensures North Road messaging is clear, consistent, and visually compelling across all platforms.
In addition, Joshua is our resident expert on the latest in streaming, tech, video games, and all things pop culture. He keeps a close eye on trends across platforms and genres, often bringing fresh ideas and context to the team. When the team is looking for their next must-watch show or movie, Joshua is the go-to source for a recommendation.

Analyst - Investment Management
With previous experience at two of Canada’s largest banks and a Business Administration degree from NAIT, Richard brings a keen eye for detail and a dedicated approach to ensuring clients achieve their financial objectives.
In this dynamic world of investing, he is committed to ensuring client portfolios stay aligned with their goals through detailed review and trading, and always striving to enhance his skills through rigorous analysis and research.
Beyond his work, Richard is an avid adventurer and fitness enthusiast, which includes rock climbing, hiking, and frequent visits to the gym.

Digital Risk Advisor
Having graduated with an AEC in Object-Oriented Programming and Web Technologies from Cégep de Rosemont in Montreal and earned his Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP®) certification from the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2), Mykhailo brings a strong technical foundation to the team.
In this dynamic world of cyber threats, he is committed to helping clients stay safe online by providing tailored advice to safeguard their digital assets.
When he's not enhancing our clients’ digital defenses, Mykhailo enjoys training in martial arts such as Brazilian jiu-jitsu or rock climbing with his friends.

Controller
Brenda holds a Business degree from the University in Guadalajara (ITESO) which started her career in business. Following her education, Brenda became an accomplished finance professional, now with nearly two decades of experience. She is especially proud of her role in founding and leading the largest events business in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
In her current role at North Road, she oversees the exchange of information for accountants and manages internal controls. Her analytical skills and attention to detail help maintain the business operations of the firm efficiently.
Outside of her professional life, Brenda enjoys nature hikes, practicing yoga and playing padel tennis with her husband and friends. She treasures her time when visiting her original hometown of Guadalajara where she is able enjoy the best al pastor taco in all of Mexico.

Analyst - Operations & Portfolio Management
With a Master of Financial Risk Management from the University of Toronto and experience analyzing both retail credit and investment trading strategies at Canadian institutions, Ahsan is happy to be back in Edmonton and bringing a quantitative eye to North Road’s operations and investment management teams.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Ahsan is an active member of the community in Edmonton, dedicating his time to volunteering for organizations such as United Way and MAX Scholarships.
When not in Edmonton, Ahsan indulges his passion for discovery by travelling across the globe. A lover of any good spreadsheet, Ahsan can also be called on to employ his quantitative analytic skills for travel planning; rumour has it he may have an Excel or two for recommended food establishments (no word yet on how his family feels about this micromanagement).

With a background in real estate and mortgages, Cory brings a fresh perspective to his work as a Chartered Investment Manager or CIM®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER or CFP® professional, and insurance advisor with North Road. A family's home is inherently personal and emotion-filled, so it's no surprise that Cory's path into financial planning was driven by people and not spreadsheets. Realizing how underserved many Canadians are when it comes to independent financial advice, Cory pivoted his career to focus on empowering sound financial decision-making via financial plans that marry clients' dollars and cents with personal values and goals.
Outside the office, Cory is an avid traveler and on a mission to see as much of the world as he can with his wife and kids. He has a particular love for Italy, where he spent his honeymoon. He also loves staying active and playing community pickleball and golf (though getting beat by the local seniors is still a bit humbling).

Timothy holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta and has earned both the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designations. He is guided by the belief that strong financial outcomes come from patience, discipline, and staying grounded through periods of uncertainty.
Outside of work, Timothy enjoys an active lifestyle with his family. You’ll often find him on the hockey rink, exploring new camping spots with his tent trailer, or spending time outdoors with his wife and young daughter. For Timothy, these moments remind him that life’s greatest returns come from time invested in the people who matter most.
